Concrete Panel Systems’ Biomass housing sparks a new business partnership
About the project
Local renewable energy supplier Smeaton Wood Energy specialise in technologies such as Biomass and Solar PV, catering for both Commercial and Domestic enquiries nationwide. Company Director Tom Charlesworth originally got in touch with Concrete Panel Systems to create an enclosure for his onsite Biomass Boiler.
It is essential that Biomass Boilers are contained in the right environment, in order for them to work to their full capacity. The aim of this particular Biomass installation was to heat poultry sheds, as the chickens need to be in high temperature climates during their early days. So it needed to be kept in mind when planning the building that Tom wanted to retain as much heat as possible.
The Biomass Boiler would also then be used as a showcase of the Smeaton Wood Energy products, allowing potential customers to view them by appointment.
A smooth and straightforward process from day one
The fact that Concrete Panel Systems have been supplying CE Marked concrete panels for over 6 years was a huge pull for Tom when looking for a reliable supplier.
“I had known about CPS for some time, as they are based close to Smeaton Wood, but what really pushed me to choose them over other suppliers was their experience and proven track record. The competitive prices also made a big difference.”
As always, the CPS team wanted to ensure the whole process was as straightforward as possible. Tom noted how impressed he was from the very start of the operation.

From this, a partnership was born and Concrete Panel Systems became the official concrete panels supplier for Smeaton Wood Energy, providing CE Marked concrete panels to be used in conjunction with Tom’s Biomass Boilers and Solar Panels.
